[Comparing] "Compare" two CD's using a single drive |
|
I'd like to verify that backup copy / copies are identical to the original. This would require reading the original, ejecting and swapping disks, then reading + comparing the copy.
(Right now I see I'm limited to creating a CRC on my hard drive, then using the Check feature.)
Here's a suggestion of how it could be implemented:
In the [Compare] dialog, recognize when the user specifies the same drive letter twice.
(Then, possibly prompt whether it was a mistake, or if they want to compare two removable disks?)
Then read the first disc, followed by a prompt to insert the second disc. (Maybe auto-eject too, if that option is already checked.) DAKane (18.06.2002) |
if enough hard disk space is available.. this option can be simple.. copy the reference cd image to hard drive... then compare the source cd with the image. crap.. did i mix the two? Anyway, this is why the option to compare to cd images are so important..
Or u can make an iso/cue-bin/ccd.. mount it with daemon tools.. then compare your cd using cd check. simple (11.09.2002) |
